First resin kit

I just opened up my first Verlinden figure kit…Resin…this is different.
Anything I should know before I dive too far in?

Whoops, broke a piece off!

Well, first thing to know is that resin is fragile & easily broken [:)]. Be sure you clean the figure & prime before painting. If assembly is required, you can use CA or 5 Min. Epoxy. I prefer the Epoxy. Otherwise, about the same as painting any other material.

You might want to check out the www.e2046.com forums for resin specifics. There’s quite a few gurus over there. However, please be forewarned that some of the subjects modeled may be, shall we say “not work safe”? There ARE quite a few great topics that will have you up and running quite quickly. I’m planning on getting into resin figures, but I’m going to get my traditional scale modeling up to par first! Resin kits can be mucho expensive!

I’ve found some great deals on Verlinden fantasy series kits on ebay, that is how I ended up with the ones I have, I have the Verlinden catalog and price list so I know how expensive they can be. Some of the Verlinden stuff is just awesome, I guess I’ll see how this first one goes and that will determine whether or not I pursue builing any more resin kits.
