While waiting for the paint to dry on my current build, I decided to break out a Revell F-14D I had purchased for the sole purpose of learing to rescribe a raised panel line kit. I read Matt Swan’s article (thanks Matt) and began to look over the parts. Whoa! This thing has some very fine raised panel lines. In addition, they are very intricate. Has anyone rescribed this kit before? Did you rescribe everything or just the straight lines that would be crossing seams?
This one would be best answered by swanny pix Crockett or Rick
Bones I’m just painting my Revell Do217, a kit I bought with the same intentions as you for the F14, as I’d never rescribed an entire kit before.
If you follow the advice in Swanny’s article you won’t go far wrong, the Dymo tape makes a big difference, just take your time, and fill any mistakes with super glue, sand and rescribe. I used a lot of superglue[;)]
I rescibed everything that I could, but it is worth checking your references to ensure the raised lines on the model are in the right place. The main thing is to achieve the right effect. Also scribing templates might be useful, for panels etc.
Hope this helps.

since most aircraft’s panel lines locations are symmetrical, i usually scribe the left side first, then the right, so that i know where the lines are. or the right side first - you get the idea. hope this helps
If you’re going to rescribe, best to do it all. A mix of recessed & raised lines doesn’t cut it. An F-14 is kinda major for your first try. Might want to practice a bit on a scrap model or plastic sheet first. The Dymo tape as guide works well. A Verlinden scribing guide is also very useful if you can find one.
