A lot of the articles and fora responses mention using Future floor polish for the coating of applied decals. However, I think this might be a US product name. Can anyone “translate” it to a product name I might be able to source in Australia???
hey how u goin mate?
unfortunatley we dont have an identical producty, we have something …similar.
its called pledge one go. ive go a bottle and i didnt like it really… it smells of amonia and leaves a yellow tint when it dries, so clear parts get tinted yellow.
ive got my self a bottle coming from canada… i bought some kits off this guy and asked him to throw in a bottle of future and he said no probs… i can give u his email… it was $11cdn plus shipping…$11cdn=$11aus… maybe u could see if hes got some kits for sale aswell… he even got a bottle of tenax for me coz i sent him to much mney… now i just gotta see if it all gets here
[#welcome] to the FSM forum Paul, always good to have another Aussie on board.
Drop in and say hello to the Aussie Modelers thread in the General Discussion section where a few of us hang out and swap information. By the way what part of Aus are you from?

I totally agree with tominator on the One Go. It is described as Australia’s Future but it’s not the same stuff. I bought some Future from Greatmodels and I can tell you it neither smells nor goes on anything like One Go.
I have also found that One Go is not that great for applying a wash too. It does not allow the wash to naturally flow along panel lines using capillary action the way that Future does.
Just be aware that you don’e have to use Future to seal decals, Tamiya clear gloss will do a similar job in providing a barrier to an oil based wash (which is what I’m presuming you will be doing).
Hey Torminator,
I would be interested in this Canadian guy’s details if you could e-mail them to me.
G’day mate, welcome to the forum (or is that madhouse),
Like these other guys said, the Australian equivilant is called Pledge One Go. I got my bottle from Coles for $5.
I found that Pledge One Go does well on canopies. It leaves them nice and clear. However, don’t try spraying it over acrylics. It eats into the paint and make it run and do all sorts of wierd things. I don’t know if it will affect enamels or lacquers.

I like using Tamiya X-22 clear or Microscale Micro-gloss. They can be polished to a nice shine.
hey
the guys email is ksiu81@hotmail.com for everyone who’d like some future… and he said hed ship anywhere… i didnt like the look of the size of the bottles that are on sale on great models… he might be selling some kits on ebay, his id is supernova_100, so check it out coz i got some cools kits 4 cheap!!!
Thanks for that torm. The Future I got from Greatmodels is EXPENSIVE and I use it sparingly, mostly for dipping clear parts and so on. As an experiment I have sprayed it on as a clear coat to see how it goes and in terms of applying a wash and it’s much better than “One Go”.
Given the choice between “One Go” and Tamiya Clear, I’ll take the Tamiya Clear.
