First Piece of Armor

Hello.

This was my first armor build, and was built partly with the elefant/ferdinand grop build. I posted picture there, but I thought I would share them here as well.

This was Dragons 1/72 Armor Pro Elefant. This was alot of firsts for me including PE, armor subject, weathering, and shading. I took the easy and un-accurate route this time and didnt use zimmerit or the multilink tracks. The tow cable was scratch built using strands of speaker wire.

It still needs afew things. I would like to add afew figures, and my some sort of diorama base in the future.

Any coments are greatly appreciated. Enjoy.

Wow, great job!

Is it sitting on snow?

Very nice build. I could never manage that in 1/72 scale.

Looks great and less space-filling. Those 1/72 armour kits just get better and better. Earlier I posted a thread on how kits were getting bigger but there seems to be a lot of 1/72 and 1/144 armour coming out. Hope it’s not your last tank. Way to go!

Dan

how could you make snow so real?
nice built for first time.

The snow was incredably easy. I just took pictures of it in my back yard. [:)]

Thank you for the comments. I definitely dont think this will be my last piece of armor. Im starting afew 1/72 aircraft, but after that who knows?

that looks great, really hard to beleive its 1/72, i hope to be able to produce that kind of quality one day, great stuff thanks for the look,

That’s a great looking model. Was it a good kit to build?

BTW, love the beaver… [:D]

Great job on the little fellow. Nice work !

Regards, Rick

Very, very nice. I especially love the weathering effect. Wash or pastels? The snow’s a bit overscale though…[:D]

Man thats a great biuld! that kind of detail in a 1/72 kit? wow I’ve gotta pick up one of those. Good job cdn beaver

Excellent build Mark! The painting is very nice, especially the tracks. I like the nasty little beast in your sig. photo too.

BTW, I grew up in Thunder Bay (saw it on your profile). I went to FWCI and spent time in the LSSR. Moved away about 18 years ago to go to university, although I still go back almost every summer as my entire family still lives there.

Anyway, keep building armor - it looks great.

I found that this was a great kit to build. Although I dont really have anything to compare it to. The kit had afew different options like one piece tracks or link and length tracks, and the option of open or closed hatches. The overall fit I felt was really good, and only required alittle putty and sanding to get a good fit. The weathering effect I got by airbrushing a slightly darker colours and using pastels.

Thanks again for the great comments.

Copterguy, I was originally from Fort Frances, but I moved here about 7 years ago to go to Confederation College for the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program, and have pretty much been here ever since.

looks good from my house Mark!![tup]

Great job. From on Canuck to another. I dig that 1/72nd scale stuff too. What planes have you got in mind? Anyways keep em rolling.

Ive got a 1/72 Cf-5A on the go, and a 1/72 CF-188 waiting to be built aswell.

A nice neat build. I really like it!

Looks Great!!

That’s anice little build, Mark. My stubby fingers don’t handle 1/72 very well at all. I’ve seen that pic in your sig somewhere, but I can’t for the life of me remember where!

very nice congrats
