Well, here are a few picts of the first Hetzer I’ve done. It’s the Dragon kit and I must say the DML kits are growing on me. The indie tracks didn’t want to stay together but I think I just need to get a little more glue in the right places. I had the same problem with the Firefly tracks but also the Modelkastens for my Sherman so I’m pretty sure it’s me(no, can’t be ME!)
For some strange reason I really like the Hetzer and plan on building a bunch more. I’m glad DML reissued this kit as well as Eduards two that are coming up. Maybe it’s cause I’m only 5ft 6 that I like these little guys!! Plus through my research there are a whole bunch of camo schemes.
The whole kit was great.I replaced the shurzen with thinner stock cause the kit’s were alittle thick. Other than that it was alot of fun to build, I’d reccomend it highly!! Plus it comes with four figures and extra stuff as usual. If I ever get the hang of painting faces it’s going into a small dio.
No prob! Thanks for the kind words. I’ve got one more of this kit plus I got the old Italeri early version on ebay that’s just dieing to be AMed up!!![party] I’m kinda ? as to how much the new Eduard kits will be. They’re coming out with both early and late. Better start walking and picking up bottles!!!
Nice! I have the late version about 90% done, but shelved at the moment. Your pics make me want to pick it up again (priority projects will stop me from doing that just yet though).
Thanks all on the nice words. Matt_alberta this is the command version but I fudged on the antenna. I came across a picture of one with antennas like this and went for it. That is about the only thing I didn’tcare for in the kit was the antenna. I tried my best but broke the piece trying to remove it from the sprue. I did fix it but then I saw that picture and scrapped the crow’s foot.
Wow, an excellent build. You did a fantastic job, and the weathering is done quite realistically. I too am pretty happy that DML has decided to reissue it, now it’s off to the LHS to get mine [:D]
It looks great. The Hetzer is a pretty cool little machine. What camo schenme did you use? Eastern front tri-color? It’s hard to tell because of the great weathering and little pic. [:)]
