OK, so I’ve NEVER played with a Wash before (watercolors, water, vinegar, soap) nor have I played with doing the Chalk thing either…so, I figured I’d give it an all out try…what do you think? Any points…I also need to get some better pictures without all the crud in the background…

The pictures are a little on the dark side, you may want to shed a little more light on the scene. but from what I can see it looks like you’ve done a nice job.

i think next time, do a wash first then dry brush it lightly.
if you dry brush first then wash, the wash will cover the highlights done by the dry-brushing. just my opinion.[:D]
Garry is right, you should try drybrushing after the wash.
The first pic has a lot of glare, but the second, top-down view looks great! Much better than my first attempt anyways.
Forgive me for being a wwII newb, but what kit is that? I can see that it’s german, but other than that, I’m afraid I’m out of my league. I have so far built only modern plus cold-war era, but I would love to build some wwII stuff, and this one looks really neat!
That’s the Tamiya 88MM GunFlak 36/37, built in the Anti-Tank setup. You can also build it with the Wheel Carriages Off, and the gun in action. Overall It’s a Fun Kit.
Thanks for all the Feedback guys. The one thing I liked about doing the Drybrush of the Silver Before the weathering, is that It appeared as if it was all scratched up, than got dirty… As for the other colors I drybrushed, I do Agree, I think I’ll start doing that after the wash…

It’s hard to tell clearly from the pix, but it seems the wash might not have been applied evenly. That is, some spots look squeaky-clean (where the wash didn’t reach), while other spots are very dirty. This is particularly noticeable on the barrel.
When I do a wash, I always check from all angles that I have full coverage. I’m one of the guys who likes to do a wash on top of a flat finish (rather than gloss), so it’s important to make sure coverage is complete, or those clean areas will show up. I also use a flat, wide brush to “manipulate” the wash after I’ve slopped it on the model.

Also, it’s pretty clear that this kit is supposed to be towed with something. Can you tell me what typically would be a good ‘something’ 
It is to be towed generally by an 8 Ton Semitrack Troop transporter.
I am working on one of those currently. I’m not sure where you can get new ones. I picked up an old Tamiya kit on ebay.
The paint was Model Master Panzer Grey. I used Sephia and Dark Umber in the wash…
Thanks for the info. I’ve never built anything from WWII before, save a sherman, which I really enjoyed. I find the wwII equipment to be so much more dynamic and interesting looking than the modern stuff, which albeit I have built exclusively till now. I want to get the tamiya kit along with something to tow it, so maybe I can build that stuff after the M1 group build.
