It has almost been a year since I join this forum and I’ve learn alot of thecniques, so I put it all together to make my first fully 100% completed model, this is tamyia’s Sdkfz 251/1 hanomag, scale 1/35, it was a chalenging kit and did had some problems like lost pieces, “fish eye’s” paint problem, rear decal and glueing the tracks to the road wheels, but thanks to all the issues of FSM I used them to make this model as realistic as I can, and it work perfectly, it has everything form salt weathering to dry brush. I wanted to put it in a dio, but first I want to submit it to the desert GB. Comments are welcome.
As someone who is yet to post their first armour build, I know how daunting it seems. Its great that you picked up tips from the very knowlegable guys here. Hanomag looks good and I’m sure you will only continue to improve over time. No critique from me as I would only be speaking out of my **s. Once again, well done !
Thanks Wirraway but thsi isn’t my first posted model (first was the M113A1), but it is my first official ( completly) complete modle, since this one hadn’t had any major delay like the others this one just went fine, and its the newest model I got and so far my best.
Ahhh the Tamiya Hanomag, I think we all have one of those on the shelf somewhere. Good job T-rex I like the chipping and the variances in paint it really lets it stand out from some of the other “plain” desert paint jobs. The only problem I have is it’s a little too muddy for my liking but all my early kits looked that way too.
Thanks for all the comments everyone, this is so far my best build and i’ll show it in a model contest this May, its won me the desert GB metal. Some people have help me with great advise, hopefully the next build will look even better.[#toast]
