I think I’m getting the hang of weathering tracks.

You’re gettin’ there…

You need to spend some more time on those roadwheels to eliminate those seams. The effort is worth it. ‘Ya lookin’ pretty good here. Keep it up.
Thanks. If this KV looks a bit too rusty overall,it’s because I was attepmting to model one that had broken down and was recovered after some time, fairly intact.
Damn!I didn’t even notice the seems in the wheels. This shall be corrected on the next KV build.I have several in the stash.

Looking good TD4438! Is that one of the Trumpeter 1/35 KV kits? I like your choice of green for this big Russian brute! The only thing I see that you may think about addressing on your next build is the rust issue. If the painted parts of the vehicle are rusty, shouldn’t the unpainted parts (tracks, tow cables) be just as rusty?
Thanks, and it is a Trumpeter kit.I tried to model a vehicle that had recently been recovered after some time, hence the less rusty tracks. It’s my understanding that the tow cables would have had a fair amount of grease on them,so I didn’t weather them as much either.
For the color,I brushed Tamiya Deep Green over some typr of olive drab, then drybrushed with a light tan color.I am pleased with the results on this one.
