Finished Tamiya A6M2 Zero

so second model done…again made alot of mistakes but thats ok im learning. I will not put on the antenna till the end of the build next time…as you can tell i broke this one in half. Thanks for lookin.

I like her. Look’s like you are a fast learner.

Very nice from where im sitting. Good work. And you 2nd model? Kudos my friend.

Not bad, not bad at all for your second go 'round. Looks better than my second model did and believe it or not, this same kit was my second model too. Looks like you brush paint huh? The finish looks pretty well done for brushing. I might suggest a flat coat. That will even the finish out a little better. Also, you may want to spend a little extra time on those pesky fuselage seams. Other than that, you’re on your way [tup]

Well done! Looks like you are improving rapidly. One thing you can do for that antenna mast is actually cut it off level with the canopy. A lot of these aircraft had their radios removed to save weight (save for the squadron commanders) so the pilots often sawed the wooden masts off flush with the canopy to cut down on drag. Solves your broken mast problem, and is accurate at the same time!

Also, slice off the excess decal on the bottom tail stripe so it does not hang off of the back. Other than that, looks like you did a very nice job on this kit. You should be very proud to display this one. [^]

Very nice, my friend! Great job on the Zero. I can’t add anything the Frank or Andy have already suggested. Keep posting…I enjoy seeing your builds.

Jim other then what has been mentioned you did a fine job for your second kit. Keep up the improvements and we’ll all be jealous.

thanks for the feedback guys. Wolf I did alright on the top seam but that bottom seam I couldve done better…I get excited as im sure you all did at one point and started rushing. Another problem is that I work 12 hour nights so I do most of the build when I get home in the morning. So no sleep makes me do things lazily(if thats a word). Daywalker thanks for the antenna mast tip…sounds like a good fix to me. As far as that decal goes, the tail of the plane actually sticks out a bit toward the bottom so the decal is on the plane…but I can see how it would look just from the pic. Anyways again thanks for the comments they are much appreciated.

Aren’t we all…[;)]

She sure looks good to me, Jim! Yet another kit I wanna add to my stash too. But you have certainly done her well![tup]
