Hi guys ( again ) I have finished my StuG IV. It’s by Academy. I tried making chipped paint but I think I went overboard a bit, but the effect works. This is also the first time I used a wash and a am really pleased how the wash brought out the detail. Again any and all comments welcome. So here are the pics…
I like it Anthony. I like your ambush scheme. It looks like you’ve lost a roadwheel in the 4th picture. You’ve really improved since you joined up, your builds keep better. I kind of agree about you chipped paint comments, but to each his own. I’ve yet to try it myself, so what do I know? Keep up the great work.
Looks pretty good to me. Although, a #2 pencil will do a nice job to get your chipped paint effects. It will still give you that metal look without being the bright chrome silver. Also try some brick red (the color of the primer) and metallic grey or dark grey. Sometimes less is more.
Hey it looks very good I like the paint colors and pattern.
The model overall looks a little shiny. Hit it with some type of flat coat and it will look awesome!
To improve your pictures try to use something to steady the camera. Detail cant be seen if the camera is shakey so use a tripod or improvise some type of rest for the camera.
Anthony14,
Looks like a good job. Don’t mean to be critical, but these eyes aren’t the best and with the photos being out of focus I really had a hard time.
The camouflage looks top notch.
Joe
I can’t tell if it shiney or if the pictures make it look shiney. You can tell better than me. If you like it, then leave it. Anyway that camo is hard to do. Well done.
Great job, BTW, do you have a photo that shows how the rear tow mounts are attached? I have the Dragon kit and they just look like a tab square with a small tab on one side and a circle in the middle?
