This is my finished PzKpfw 38T, in 1/35 scale. I used the Maquette kit with Friulmodel tracks, and Archer transfers for the turret numbers and the balkenkreuzes. The figure is from Verlinden, with scratchbuilt headphones. The display is inspired on the first picture below, which I got from a WWII book, showing a tank from Panzergruppen Kleist breaking cover from a hull down position under a tree, somewhere in France in 1940.
Great build, you have captured the scene perfectly.
Just 1 comment, maybe spray a dust coat of “dirt” colour over the whole dio to take the edges off the vehicle and blend it in a bit more.
Good work
Looks very nice!! I love the dramatic pose of the road wheels and the track!! It looks like a very clean build and the finish is quite well done. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed looking at your model.[tup][tup]
Very good dio. I love how you built the road wheel up into the suspension and the realistic way the tracks came out. I agree with Daveash regarding adding a little coat of dust to blend it in better. But overall a very good dio.[tup]
JWest21: The kit isn’t too bad overall, but it did have a couple of fit problems, mostly around the turret; and some ejector pin marks here and there. The only thing that was pretty much unusable were the indy link tracks, they had huge ammounts of flash, that’s why I went with Friulmodel.
ponch, awesome dio. im workin on a pz 38(t) myself. im using the italeri kit. not as nice as yours it looks. great idea with the tank rising from the postion. thanks!!
Oh baby…I LOVE IT!!! I just saw this thread and glad I did. You have done a fantastic job Ponch. I love the 38(t) variants and you captured it well. The ground work really adds to it and I love the air recognition strip on the rear deck…just awesome bud. Very inspiring and this made my day. Blah on the dullcote…leave it as is!!! It looks great. Thanks for sharing.
That is a great build that resulted in one of the coolest vingettes I’ve ever seen. The posing of the roadwheels gives the scene a very convincing sense of movement. Excellent work.
