Finished my KV-II Gigant

Ok, So, I’m torn on the weathering on this piece. I was experimenting with some new things, and not sure if I think it’s terrible weathering, or if I really like it… Take a peak, and let me know what you think. I always Love the good or (especially bad) feedback, it helps me grow as a modeler.

PS. I took previous advice, and silvered my Tracks to show wear, and tried to even out the Dust on the front…

abastyr

looks great
great web site too

That models looks really good as is , the only thing i would add would be to dust up the turret a bit , maybe a rust streak or two , but serious it does look good as is . heres a kool article on russian armour I found a bit back but could be applied to any stuff http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/other/awpaint/awpaint.htm

Looks nice ot me. I haven’t been able to get that “chipped down the the raw metal” look on mine. Tried a silver pencil, but just didn’t make it!

I really like it Abastyr! Particularly the rusty/dusty look to the upper hull.
The only thing I would do personally would be to bring out a bit more steel on the tracks through dry-brushing, but that is a personal preference; the big fella looks great as is!

That is a gorgeous model. Outstanding weathering job!

Nice work andy i like the look[8D]

Nice job, Andy [tup]

Way to get it dusty and rusty !

Great job, only thing I would do to it is drybrush the tracks some as previously mentioned.

Excellent job, Andy.

Dan

Excellent work, Andy!

Looks very good. I really enjoy seeing each one just a little better than the last, keep up the good work.
One suggestion, places of metal on metal contact would be pretty shiny, things like the drive sprocket and road wheels/idler wheels (if they don’t have rubber tires) and where the guide horns rub the road wheels (if possible).

Great model. But what I’ve noticed was that your decals don’t make no sence. I myself can read in russian and i can see that on the marking you were trying to write in russian. It doesn’t make sence because i think that you were trying to write “For Mother Russia” but you wrote For in English and not in russian. And as i know no one ever wrote anything like that. The russian always said For The Mother Land and not For Mother Russia. I know that because both of my grandpas were in WWII. One was a tanker and another was an officer so they told me that this decal is absolutely wrong. Still this is a great model, but try not to make anymore mistakes like that, if you can try to correct the markings. Good job on the model.[:)]

Nice model Abastyr! And nice weathering link spector! Don’t think it’s going to be easy getting those Russian letters off the turret though, so good luck. But nice model!
