This is the Tamiya M-26 Pershing. I built it straight “box stock”. This is my 2nd try at weathering with oil paints. I also used pastels. I built it as an WWll early model which this kit is closest to. [I believe anyway.]
Any and all coments good or bad are highly valued.
A very good example of a very historic tank. Nice weathering, but take that talent and keep going with some Jerry cans and c-ration boxes and some barbed wire coils and maybe some empty brass. Since you built it “in service” as opposed to museum style, a few little details of daily tanker life would finish it up nicely.
Hey Matt,
Nice looking job [tup][tup]. Perhaps a bit of black inside the muzzle brake and some steel on the guide teeth. Great job on the “slightly weathered” look. Take a bow.

Very nice work Matt! I think you’ve got the oil paint technique down pretty good, the closeup shots in your pictures show a good blending of the oils on the tank surfaces and look very convincing. I tend to lean toward the more subtle weathering myself. You could add some loose gear to this build and it wouldnot needmuch of anything else in my opinion. Semper Fi, Mike
Thanks for the kind words and feedback. The reason I built this the way I did is this is going to be a show dog in an upcoming AMPS contest, and later an IPMS contest. Our IPMS show has “Box Stock”, other than anntenas, decals, no parts other than came in the box. Yah I know, good excuse anyway.[;)].
Panther44, you got me on the guide teeth, I over looked that, although I never seem to get them subtle enough for my taste. Also good point on the muzzle break. I managed to eliminate the seam on the inside of the muzzle break, and did not go back to darken it a little. I’ll take care of that. Thanks again.
