Finished Leopard Pics - sorry no spots

Nice looking Leopard, Jim! I like the colors and camo.
I didn’t know Trumpeter put out a Leopard!
Anyhoooo, good work!

NICE job!! It looks great. What, all Leopards aren’t spotted??? Well, I’m going to cancel my trip to Germany now![;)] That NATO color scheme looks good on it doesn’t it? You reminded me why I took my camera along last weekend… wanted some camo photos of our Paladin… didn’t have time to take them though[V]! … so the camera never went to the field with me. (which is a first).

Are you sure those aren’t stretches sprue after market tracks with PE details?[:D]

Ron.

Thanks J-Hulk,

It’s the one with the tubes for river fording. (wasn’t going to put those things on) It had the ability to be motorized - had gears - no motor. It could be a re-box of another kit. It came without a box and there was no company name on the instruction sheet. I tracked down one similiar somewhere. I got what I paid for.

Ron P

Thanks as well. I certainly don’t get as much of a chance as you to see this stuff up close & personal as you do.

BTW - You hit the nail on the head - they were aftermarket stretched sprues - so I didn’t actually do them myself.

Have to admit I feel like Bill, not much for modern, then I see work like yours and gets a person to thinking. Fine job Jim, looks great. The only modern I have is an Abrams and I hope to get that going after the Panther build. Keep em rolling.

wow really nice…you said u built it oob so does that mean the lenses for the
head lights came seperately and clear as well?
on the tamiya one they are seperate and in green plastic.
it must have been hell to hide the seam on the barrel as well…

Tigerman,

I thought the same thing. I actually went out and bought two more Leopards. Revell’s 1A4 and Italeri’ 1A4 (Cookie Sewell likes Italeri’s) I’m a changed person. I don’t like modern better but - Don’t knock it, til you tried it .[:D]

Obiwan,

The lights just are painted silver w/ black wash over them ( the magic of photography). As far as the barrel goes which seem the right side up one or the one that I posted first. Only kidding, but yeah, alot of scraping, putty and sanding was needed here. Still needs a little more but you can’t see it in these pictures

Good luck with yours

ahhh thanx thats enligthening…as i am wrestling with my leopard

News to me too …

Idle curiosity – Do the Germans still have 2A4’s in the inventory, or have they upgraded them all to 2A5’s? I actually prefer the boxy look of the 2A4 turret.

Anyhoo, good buildup – hope the next one is easier!

seems everyone is doing a leopard !

your model looks really nice and convincing, especially the mud and dust on the back of the tank

i’m currently doing a Leopard AS1,but messed up the kit, so i gotta get a new one [B)]

they may still have Leopard 2A4, as australia is considering getting the Leopard 2A4 to replace the Leopard AS1 … unless they manufacture new ones for the ADF i’m not totally sure

they are also considering the Challenger 2 and the Abram

but yeah, great model [8D]

Thanks for the comments Larry and 3ggs,
