Wow you finished your Leopard in what, about 30 min.? I’m still sanding my gunbarrel on my Panzer III. [:p] Lol. Seriously, It’s a nice effort and hope to see more in the future. [:)]
LOL 30mins…thats great, actually it took me about 3 days total. not to bad for my first one! My Panzer IV D is taking a bit longer tho…lol I will get pics up of it after it’s painted:)
Thanks guys!
And no worries they will keep comming!
I have to ask, is the paint job supposed to be blue and black? I’ve never seen anything like that. I think it lokos cool but. I know some were painted in a grey colour, but thought they were the early ones with the rounded turret.
panzeriv,
Yes it is supposed to be blue and black, altho my original intention was to paintit panzer grey…the grey i used had a touch more blue then i thought so hence the resulting paint scheme. According to Tamiya Panzer Grey is a color option on these…besides i made it a bit more fantasy than realistic…that i am saving for my Panzer IV Ausf D.
Very nice work Horus. You say it took you 3 days to build and paint that. I am still working on my Panzer III L (going on almost 3 months) and my Konigstiger (almost 2 months). But I have only dedicated about 2 hours a day on modelling the last few weeks or so. As your skill level increases Horus, you will find that your modeling time will also increase on particular projects.
I am not a huge fan of Modern Armor (even when it is German [:p]) or West German in this case. So I can not really comment on the paint scheme. I like it, and it gives a little edge to it. I have seen a few Leo’s done in my day…and I really like them in a Nato scheme.
Now Get a nice Oil wash on that bad boy and subdue that camo a bit…that will reallymake it stand out.
Even if the colors aren’t 100% accurate, who cares, I like it. You the modeler are the artist, not us spectators. That’s probably a hangup of mine anymore, too darned concerned about bloody accuracy. Really takes alot of the fun out of building. Darned perfectionist Libra in me! Look forward tothe Panzer IV.
