That’s the one. Although I think the 262 isn’t to debut until later in the spring. They had it on their Facebook page but I can’t find the info now.

OK, Doogs. Thanks to you, I just ordered the Hobby Boss A1-B, because, as my lovely wife pointed out, I “don’t have enough” airplane kits in the stash 
I wish my wife would point that out…my stash grows by means of guerilla warfare…once a kit makes it to the stash, it can blend in and disappear…
A friend of mine just reviewed the A-1b…seriously tempted to pick one up myself. He’s also built the A-1a/U5, and like me he’s a fan of these Hobby Boss Swallows.
So if the the choice is for the 1A looks like the Tamiya but I really like the looks of the HB 262.

Actually, Doogs, I saw that review after you planted the 262 seed in my brain. As soon as I finished the review, I threw the kit in my Amazon shopping cart and pushed the button. It’ll be here Tuesday. I won’t get to it right away, but I’m really looking forward to it now!

I knew one of the American pilots that was involved with the frantic search for German jets in May 45. (Rocket hunters were a different group.) He said US pilots, while naturally afraid of any late war German plane for safety issues, were suitably impressed and engineers in dreamland. (The F-86 was our version, just as the Mig-15 was Russia’s.) One of the truly great aircraft designs.
Do have a question from a build point of view. I visited the Smithsonian’s second center near Dulles (where the Enola Gay resides) a few months after I started modeling. These were museum pieces and it’s hard to say how much they reflect reality. One thing that did strike me was that panel lines varied greatly in prominence. Those that indicated a major structural join or something that opened were very clear. Those part of the fuselage or wing frame much less so. But a lot is in the eyes of the beholder. Yours are pretty prominent. Did the photo record lead you that way?

Beautiful build. I have a few Hobby Boss kits on my shelf (no Me 262 though) but haven’t built one yet, so I was wondering about the quality. Guess I need to acquire one of these too. I would like to see a good shot of the cockpit.

One of my friends is currently in the process of “shrinking” a set of 1:48 scale Ventura decals to 1:72, so that I can make ME-262 A-1a/U4 V083 “Wilma Jeanne” and the other two ‘LUSTY’ ME-262’s in 1:72 and therefore allow it to fit in with the rest of my aircraft and my 1:64 model trains.
Your model of “Wilma Jeanne” looks amazing, and I can only hope that mine comes out looking nearly as good.
