I finished my 1/48 Trimaster Fw 190D-9 this evening. I used a strand of speaker wire for the antenna, since it can be bent to a more realistic shape than fishing line (my usual material). These drooped when the canopy was open. A couple of last minute details are the handle on the inside of the canopy, and tailwheel retraction cables added to the main gear retractors.
Thanks for letting me share this pleasurable build of a uniquely painted bird with you !
Awesome job as always Pix… she’s a keeper for sure.
Funny story when I was young and my dad and I went to an IPMS show and I saw an FW190 model I thought the person who built it had done a really crummy job on the landing gear… then I found out it was supposed to be at that weird angle.
Nice job! One thing I noticed, though, is the forward edge of the bottom wing seems to really stand proud of the forward, underside of the cowling. Was the fit of the kit a bit rough? It’s an older molding, just curious. Overall really nice looking Dora.
