Looking much better Tony, making good progress. The mold lines on the springs are one of the truly “patience required” areas on all 38t kits…even though most of them will be hidden once you mount the wheels, enough is visible that it’s something to be dealt with. Trade-off I guess for their only being 4 road wheels per side. [(-D]

Hey Bill you think that’s why the 38 is so popular, not many wheels.[:D]

The file set that I already have was used on steel and were not very good for plastic so a new set was in order.

That PM was sent before I found out you were skipping town so Doog filled in for you.[;)] Tony the Mutt

Happy to have doog fill in anytime! [:D] Glad you got what you needed. [;)]

Awww… Ohwell… Just wished to tell you! [:)]

Love it so far! [:D]

Tony, true that she was a “Paper Panzer” but, she could also have been built as a “What If”. So speculatively, she could be built as if the war had continued and that she went into production. I know that I chance my going against the grain here. But remember, have fun and enjoy the build. I built this same kit last year, here’s a few pic’s of my rendition.

Yours is looking good so far, go Tony go!

doc

You see Manny, Doc’s proven that this guy doesn’t look ugly.

After I found out this SPG was never put in production I was just going to finish it up in a hurry and move on. Now Doc shows up with a really great piece and steals all my thunder causing me a lot of extra work trying to make mine look as good as his. I can’t believe somebody would do that especially a neighbor of mine.[soapbox][:D][(-D][;)]

Doc I sure wish you had brought yours to the shop sooner, you’ve got me all hyped up again. I was wanting to get started on that Trumpeter Mega Tiger.[BH]

Where did you get the idea for the wooden platforms in there?

Thanks for bring her by to see me.[tup] Tony the Mutt

Thanks Tony, we’re all here to encourage oneanother, so just have fun and finish her how you see fit. Keep the weathering to a minimum. The folding benches came with the kit, I just gave them a wood like finish.

Enjoy the build my brother, that’s the secret to this hobby. doc

Tony, to reply to your e-mail. The seats fold forward for the crews access, as do the wood platforms.

doc

Brilliant! Great look to that build, doc! [:D]

Tony, from what I could see, that wall looks much better with the second wash!

ROCKIN’!!! [:P]

[:D]Ok all you camo connoisseurs what do ya think???

Just took it out of wraps and i’ve got a few minor touch-ups but that’s no big deal.

Saw this type of camo on a Flakpanzer 38(t) and figured it would be right for this 38(t).

Appreciate your opinions and time Tony the Mutt

Tony, That’s a twist and a good one at that! Splinter camo looking cool on this little one.

doc

An interesting pattern Tony, is this the result of your masking experiment? Looks pretty sharp. [tup]

No, this is the tapeing I was asking about over on the paint forum.

The masking with Blue Tack or Silly Putty will be used on the Hetzer.

!http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/hellspawn_/Smileys/119102sk.gifMan that’s clean, but it’s really sharp Doc! A great example for tony to refer to.!http://www.innovationbyinstinct.com/services/hosting/clients/accountyp/status/DisasterMaster/%23t1-4.jpg

[?] What do you folks think, Is it too dark??

You think it’s too nasty looking???

Only a wash and nothing else. Thanks for looking and opinions Tony the Mutt

COOL, Tony!

Didja lighten the DY before spraying? I think it’s going to darken possibly to much when you weather it?

Here’s what I would do–hit it with a light tan/buff wash overall, and then have a clean brush ready to wick away a lot of the wash from the red parts–that way ou can lighten up the DY without necessarily washing out the reds too much.

Then you can pinwash it with dark umber to bring out the details.

Cool choice though! It reminds me of the weird prototype that I did of the Sturmkanone auf 38t a few months ago–you think YOUR tank is ugly? LOL! [:O]

[:D]

I was going to fit the tracks the other day before I did the weathering and the sprockets were to narrow to match up. I got to looking and the tracks I had finished and ready to go were wrong for this model 38(t). I ordered the Panzer 38(t) set from Sprue Bros and they fit like a glove.

Back in business[tup] Tony the Mutt

Hi Tony I’ve been watching your progress and you seem to be making some real head way with this model.

The Camo looks good and I believe you can bring a winner in here.

Good luck with theh rest of your painting and weathering.

Terry.
