Finemolds TIE Interceptor

Took a break from the Bf 109K and this is what I came up with…spent about 6 hours on it Sunday, and about 4 hours yesterday afternoon. Probably the easieast kit I’ve done in a long time, and a lot of fun!If you haven’t built one of these Finemolds kits, you owe it to yourself to try one!!

You certainly did an excellent job in a short amount of time!
Nice pic, too.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!!

JK

Looks great! I’ve got two of the Fighters, plus the X-wing, in a box in the basement, for a diorama. Can you give some more details on the build-up?

Brian, where’e the pic of you in an Indiana Jones hat with an impish smile on your face? [:p]

Thanks, Larry!

Not much to say, really…a very straightforward build. It’s airbrushed with Tamiya Light Sea Gray (with a bit of Testors MM US Navy Intermediate Blue mixed in), after it was pre-shaded with Tamiya black (thinned 90%). The solar panels, or radiation panels as some say, are Testors MM Aircraft Interior Black. The wash was Davy Grey water colors, and the Flat Matte was Future/Tamiya Flat Base mixed 70/30%.

How did that work? Aren’t Tamiya colors alcohol-based, and Testors water-based?
