Just got back from the LHS and noticed that the Fine Molds Tie Interceptor was in stock.
Kit looks the same as the Tie-Fighter except for the Wings of course, cockpit seems to be identical after a quick peek.
I actually went there to get the new “Spray work painting stand set”, the set consits of 2 rotating bases one with a turntable the other with a spring holder/Body stand for Car Bodies or similar.
Always wanted a cheap turntable for spray-painting and Tamiya has listened.
[:D]
Yep, it is nice. I like Tamiya and Wave for things like this.
Wave got the motorised paint-stirrer out recently, now I don’t have to order it anymore form the states.
Nice kit, I prefer the design over the Tie Fighter. Might get it, fist I need to see how much Mandarake will empty my wallet over New Year.
Grrr…that is killing me. I can see at least three sitting on my shelves. If any of those three is built, I am hoping most for the Super Star Destroyer to be built. [;)]
I’d like to see their take on the Millenium Falcon…of course, I’d expect it to probably cost $200 by the time it made it to the States.
Let’s see… a 1/72 scale Super Star Destroyer. That should work out to about 400 feet in length. Let’s pray it’s not a one-piece hull!
In all seriousness, even at 1/1000 scale, like the Polar Lights Enterprise, that monster would still be 30 feet long! So, for practicality sake, say all the star destroyers were done in 1/10,000 scale. The Executor would be 1 meter long. The Millenium Falcon would be the size of this… O TIE fighters would be too small to model without a microscope.
Yes, I would love to build an imperial assault fleet at 1/10000 scale. The same scaled ROTJ Death Star would be over 250 feet in diameter. Maybe I’d just go with a photo of it in the back ground? : )
It doesn’t have to be to scale. I’d settle for a kit of the Executor if it was at least the same size as the old Ertl Star Destroyers. I’m just wanting the opportunity to build an SSD.
