Well, it’s sort of a diorama–actually just a plane on a resin base…I decided to go with the Woodland Scenics coarse turf mix exclusively. The glue is still a bit wet, and appears white. How does it look?

how does it look? Very Nice! The wood is very well painted and the coarse turf came out great. Neat little base for your wingy thingy.
So far so good. The plane and the ground are very good.
I hope to see also some figures ,fuel drums and the Luftwaffe carts.
It will be a fantastic job,by the way this is 1/48?
Pedro
Actually, it is 1/48, the Tamiya FW190D-9 kit (not the JV44 kit they used to make). Do you know who makes a good 1/48 scale Luftwaffe cart? Thanks…
Looks pretty nice. Thanks for the pics.
Uproar,
I like a lot this ones by Verlinden,are in resin,very good,but a bit expensive.
They look great in your dio

Pedro
Very nice work on the Dora. Base & scenery are a nice touch.

Actually, I just ordered the Verlinden airfield carts for the display, although, the more I think about it, it might look more appropriate if, say, I had the engine hatches open and a detailed Jumo engine exposed, as if it were being worked on. I think I might perhaps order a Luftwaffe pilot figure (Sachsenburg), and have him climbing up into the plane, with perhaps another pilot or crew member standing off to one side. Thank you for the advice.
In photos I’ve seen of this resin hardstand after it has been painted and static grass applied, there seems to be a tendency to want to keep a margin of dirt/bare ground around the hardstand itself, which doesn’t make sense to me. There would be no reason to clear the grass before laying down the planking, would there? It seems to make sense to have the grass growing right up to the edge of the hardstand.
You are right about the grass, but on the side the plane goes in and out,and where the crew are walking on,the grass won´t grow,it will be off by the use of being on the top of it.
I think the figures will be very nice, and don`t forget some fuel drums.
Keep sending photos
Pedro
