Finally popped my Dragon cherry!!!!!

Afternoon all.

Well I’m proud to say I’m no longer a Dragon virgin, after completing their SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen. I must say I enjoyed building this kit and I’m amazed at the standard of the parts and the number, after mainly doing Tamiya kits.

The kit went together nice and easy, I did have to fiddle about to get the upper and lower hull sections to fit, but not a big problem. All painting was done by hand using Xtracrylix and Vallejo paints, I used tape to mask off the camo pattern but when I lifted the tape I was left with a slight lip on some sections[censored]. I didn’t go for a heavy weathered look as the 234/4 wasn’t in service long enough, so I chose to do a slight drybrushing and dusting with Mig pigments after a couple of coats of Vallejo Matt varnish.

I’m pleased with the end result and I’m looking forward to my next Dragon adventure.

Thanks for looking

Mark

What color did you use for the camo?I love it.

Thanks TD4438, I used Vallejo Cavalry Brown for the camo and Xtracrylix Dunkelgelb for the base colour. It wasn’t until I’d done the base coat that I realised that I should’ve done the base coat in Cavalry Brown to represent Red primer.

Congrats on your first Dragon kit, it looks very well, Thhe camo looks good too. I will say that the entire 234 series by Dragon are stunning kits. Now get a nice base for your kit to show it off.

Terry.

Congrats on completing your first Dragon! [tup] The 234 series of kits is one that I’ve been meaning to tackle for some time but haven’t gotten around to it just yet but have heard good things about all around. Look forward to seeing you complete #2.
