From the Oct 2007-Mar 2008 group build, I had started an M60A1 and a Type 89. Unfortunately, a few little detours required by the Army resulted, and I spent a little (OK, a lot) of time away from home.
But small things like wars shall not deter me!
I’ve decided I like Trumpeter. I have a lot of their kits, many of them are terrible. But credit to them, nobody else is liable to make an Osorio MBT or Chinese Type 89 SPATG. Companies that do something ‘different’ should be rewarded, instead of being the fifth company to make a Tiger 1 Ausf E as seen on Tue, 17th August 1943, seventeen miles North East of Vastilograd, at 5pm with the bent headlight mount but before the fender was fixed and just after someone spilled some coffee on the unit emblem.
All older kits, not worthy of spending too much time on and built straight from the box supposedly as a nice, relaxing and fast build. Except the Type-98, the driver’s periscope was so God-awful I couldn’t live with it so I built a new one. In fairness, the Tamiya M60 was actually kindof fun to build. Trumpeter’s painting instructions were ridiculously poor, I ended up eyeballing the colours.
