Finally Finished Flat Focke Wulf Fighter...

[:D]

Finally finished this bird–got rid of that dreaded gloss…just need to paint the display base…Dora Red 1 of the JV44…

That looks pretty nice – good job![tup]

Thanks, Swanny–after much frustration with useless Cutting Edge canopy masks, I used your wonderful canopy masking technique, and learned the wonders of Future!

Great job. I hope that mine comes out looking that good - if I ever get around to building it…

Very nice Dora. Well done.

Regards, Rick

Thank you…now I can finally get over the darn thing and move on to something else…working on a Tiger I now…

AWESOME LOOKING BIRD!!![tup][bow]

Beautiful work on the FW. The finish is outstanding.

Nice Dora. Keep up the good work.

That flat finish really makes the model, looking excellent now.

Very nice work. Please keep it up, and keep posting pictures.

Thanks, everyone–been working on that plane for so long, I’m getting a bit weary of it. Its all coming back to me now…how much I loved doing this when I was a kid. I wish I still had all the stuff I built back then.

Yes, it does look a bit better than it did–I tried the mixture of Future with Tamiya Flat Acrylic Base, and it still had a gloss to it–not sure if I used the right proportions. Only the Floquil Acrylic Flat did the trick.

Looks great! Very nice job on the finish. Just curious, what problems did you have with the masks? I’ve used Cutting Edge/Black Magic masks many times with no problems whatsoever.

I just had problems getting the Cutting Edge masks to stick very well, and there was some seepage under the masks…it was probably my fault. I had better luck with Tamiya tape.

Beautiful! Excellent finish, thanks for the look,

Darren.

Sweet!!!

There’s just something about those long nose 190’s.
I like the chips taken out of the prop as well.

Sweet D…whats the base made of? is it a DYI or did you purchase it ?

Very, Very Nice!!! Your painting skills are awsome [^]

Chipping on the canopy and wing root is very realistic, what technique did you use ? Looks great thanks for sharing.

Nice looking Dora! I dind;t see the glossy version, but what you;ve posted is the real deal. THanks for sharing. What kit and scale was this?

…and don;t go over to Armor on us!!! (tiger I)
