FINALLY! Definitive proof of field-applied zimm!

Ya just gotta start stirring the pot, don’tcha?

ROFL, I have learned one thing here for sure. At the heart of almost every controversy, there is MR chuggin away with his big stick and the stirring pot!! Cool pic Manny!

Learned something new with this post…never realized that the Brits played around with this at all, never mind post-war. I find it somewhat ironic in the caption that it points out that large chunks would come off if the tank were hit…something tells me that’s not all that might come off. [:D]

Man, it musta been hell to keep it out of the tea cups! [(-D]

As the Cromwell was similarly-protected to a Sherman, It would only be relatively small-caibre shells that would make the zim fly off in chunks without causing it to fly off inside the tank, for instance.

nice photoshop [:I]

I like the wording next to the pics.

A hit by a 8.8 shell, then everything, including the tank will definately come off in chunks [(-D]

Ben

I always get a kick at our surprised over such experimentation. The Brits tried some God-awful goofy ideas and the Germans are well known for their many outlandish cobble-ups. What is less well known is how all the opponents borrowed, or at least tested, ideas from each other.

Perhaos, too, it’s just that great minds think alike and there is a certain inevitability in concepts. Call me a pragmatist - Kafka would be proud.

Won’t those limeys ever learn. Your supposed to clean the tank before you apply the zimmermit.
