Final Frontier Contest - Viewing and Voting

It’s difficult to view the entries because each page/entry can only be viewed after the title image loads and the viewer has cursored down to the pictures. Is there anyway we can view entries in a slideshow format that doesn’t require downloading the title image? Could entries be displayed as thumbnails for easy access? This would make viewing for voting a lot easier.

I also noted that in the recent Star Wars contest, I was only allowed to vote for one entry. It was a hard choice and it would have been nice to be able to vote for, say, three entries to get a better overall picture of reader’s favorites.

Hey Jim! This is Elizabeth from FSM. Thanks for trying to view the Star Trek entries. We want this to be an easy process so let’s figure this out. You definitely can view the images as small thumbnails by being in the “View Entires” tab and clicking View Gallery. That should help you browse through them faster. You can view them as a slideshow by clicking the speed at which you would like them to pass. Unfortunately, each page does have to load in that mode. Now if I’m understanding you correctly, you’re saying that the “Modeling the Final Frontier” banner has to load on your end before the other images load? I’m going to reach out to the company who configured the contest page and see if there’s any way we can streamline the slideshow process.

Thanks for letting us know!

Didn’t know about the “View Gallery” button. That definitely helps.

And, yes, the banner displays before each picture in “Slideshow” mode. Basically, if you left it in slide show mode, you’d just get a series of banners!

So what were the results of the contest?

Look for them in the March issue on sale February 7!
