Final concert wrap-up....July 15th; good to be home!

Hi guys,

I know I should really put this in Odds and Ends, but here’s my “home” and my friends, so,… I just wanted to let you know that I’ll be gone for about 3 weeks or so, to play what might be the bggest concert of my career?

It’s called the “Magic Circle Music Festival”, and it’s in “google” if you want to check it out.

The most amazing thing is, we’re headlining on Friday and Saturday night–and get this–both Def Leppard and Whitesnake are opening for us on Saturday night!!! And “THE MAN”–ALICE COOPER is playing on Thursday night!!! Can you believe that? I can hardly!!!

Here these guys were my teenages heroes, and I’ve rocked both my world–and some others…[;)]–to their songs, blasting out of a stereo player, and yet there they will be, opening for me and sharing the bill with us! I still can’t quite get over it!

So, just wanted to let you know, I’m not “disappearing”–just going to work again, before I can get back to the “serious business” of modeling! [(-D]

I have to say–I am getting a hankering for another Armor build and tutorial–I was thinking of one of those Cyber Hobby “exotics” based on the 38(t) chassis…this glossy paint on my Super bee and Charger is seriously making me mental! [(-D]

So, I’m leaving on Monday, 8:00 AM for Germany–I’ll see you all arond July 15th or so when I should be back!

Have a “blast” doog, auf wiedersehen!

That is sweet all the groups i grew up with, and youd think since i live an hour away from scottsdale id run into alice nope not yet.

Wow, that would be an incredible show. I love Def Lepard. Party on and hard good buddy.

Sounds like it’s going to be a heck of a concert and a great festival. Have a safe trip and great concert…knock 'em dead…er…break a leg…er…you know what I mean.

live the dream doog live the dream [8D]

You call this work you lucky doog you. I remmember seeing Whitesnake and Def Leppard when I was stationed in Germany a few year’s back (ok a lot of year’s back)A great show. I do belive it was called the Monster’s of Rock tour.Saw Alice in Phily at the Spectrum back in '79 one of the best show’s I’ve ever been to. Frank Zappa show at the Tower theater will always be my #1. If you get around the Nuremburg area and if it’s still there check out the Green Goose rock club. That was one kick a** place.

Good luck doog and have a safe trip Steve

It just doesn’t get much cooler than that. Kick somebutt. Then get back here and build.

Jeez what a life… building models and playing AFTER Def Leppard Whitesnake!

No that ain’t workin… money for nothin’ and the chicks for free…[;)]

Have a good time in Europe, Karl. It’s always a great trip.

I’ve met Alice (Vince) a number of times at Pebble Beach where he plays in the ATT Pro Am. He’s an incredible golfer, 3 handicap which means that on a good day he can keep up with a pro. It saved him from the bottle.

Karl -

Enjoy…savor the moment

Time marches on…I remeber seeing Alice at the Garden in the early 70s…

Rounds Complete!!

Bring us back some groupies, doog!

I saw Alice Cooper on his Madhouse Rock Tour way back in the late 70s early 80s, can’t remember exactly when. What a show! On the festival list it said Ted Nugent was going to be there too? Wow, saw him 3 times years ago! I used to be a concert going freak back in the day. Always got to the show many hours early so as to be sure to get down front. Those were the days before reserved seating, where you could go stand where ever you want. A friend and I skipped school to get tickets for the first concert we had ever been to. 1976, Black Sabbath with Ozzy still in the band. Even after going to maybe 40 or 50 different concerts, that was still the loudest by far.

You are certainly going to be around some legends Doog and to have them open for you…WOW!

Enjoy!

Outstanding Karl… [tup]

Very cool, going to be something to remember.

Rock on… [8D]

Let us know when some vids are posted.

Wow Karl, that’s a great lineup! I met Alice (Vince) at a Pro-Am tourney in Vancouver years and years ago. Very nice guy and a heck of a golfer!

Break a Leg.

That sounds very kicka$$ !!! Didn’t know that Cooper was still touring…knock 'em dead, doog…chicks dig rock n roll and armor modelers !!!

kick butt doog!!![8D]

Thanks a lot, for all the well-wishes, guys!

I’m definitely excited about meeeting Alice! Her’s a fact–the first song I ever played and sang in fromt of an audience was Alice Cooper’s “Escape” from the “Welcome to My Nightmare” album, at the Bishop Hannan High School talent contest back in…oh,…1981? 82? (man am I dating myself! LOL!) I wore the grooves out of that album!

A day of packing today; most od my stuff is already over there in my road case, but personal items gotta be selected carefully—all these stupid new regulations, rules, and restrictions for flying.[sigh]…it’s definitey NOT a stress-free experience! [banghead]

Well, I’lll be in and out here today. Gonna spend the day working a little bit more on some of the cars I’m building, and trying to forget that all my other riding buddies are off racing today (I can’t afford to get hurt before the big shewww!)

I’ll be looking forward to seeing all the cool stuff you guys finish in three weeks time! [:D]

Doog - have a great time at your show - sounds like a blast. [;)]

While you’re there, don’t forget to try to make converts of some of the other guys on tour with you. Come to think of it, you should probably pack a few spare kits with some tools, so you can do a make-and-take with Alice and the guys from Def Leppard…the forum can always use a few more new faces. [(-D]

WAWAWAWAAAAAAAAAA! (sustain)
