filter for paint booth

I have the perfect piece of furniture to adapt to a paint booth and just need to mount an exhaust fan above the shelf.

I am looking at lots of fans for $100+ - more than I wish to spend. Think I would need at least 100CFM, but a squirrel cage one would work fine for me. Any links? [:D[

Wondered about the need for a filter in front of the fan? Would it get gunked up/ frozen over time if it had no filter? Is it possible to use furnace filter to do that?

An inexpensive furnace filter is all you need.

I use a bathroom exhaust fan on mine. Under $20 at Home Depot. Does a great job!

I second that. I am on my third homemade booth. Previous two used auto air filters. Furnace filters are cheaper and work much better.

I’ll third it!

Thats what i use works fine.

Thanks to all for the input. I take it that all agree that a filter should be used. I will look for a bathroom exhaust fan at HD!

Take care- most of the bathroom fans do not have enough flow. Also, the static pressure may be too low to suck through a filter properly. I tried one once and it was the worst booth I made. Had to replace that blower with a better one. You need at least 100 cfm, 150 even better
