Filling gaps between canopy pieces

I’m hoping I can get some hints on a dilemma I am
expecting to encounter soon.

I have a vacuformed F16 canopy that comes in two
pieces to allow for it to be displayed open. However,
I going for a closed-canopy on my model. The seam
between them is far from perfect, and I will need to
gap fill somehow. I’m wondering how I can fill the gap
without creating an unsightly putty line visible on the
inside (which I would not be able to paint, due to the
canopy being closed).

Any ideas?
I’m considering bonding the two parts BEFORE attaching
either to the fuselage. Could cause a poor fit, though.

Easy:

Use Testors Clear Parts Cement.

Glue it in place, then fill the gaps, then use a fine brush for touch-up.

Not only does it dry clear, you can fill very large gaps with it, that when painted look like part of the framing. I do it all the time.

I just had a problem with fit on an ICM Spit IX canopy. I gap filled with Testors white cement and then painted over the clear dry residue. Worked well for me!

Yup, I’ve done this before as well and it does work fine.

[#ditto] Same here! Works everytime for me too. [tup]

I have used White out (correction fluid) in the past but just normally use white glue I steal from my kids art supplies.
