filling and screwing up

Has anybody else done this? After doing the base coat on my Ju-88, I’m not entirely happy with the wing roots. Out comes the putty, tape, nail polish remover and Q-tips. As careful as I try, I still manged to remove some paint.[:(]. Should have left well enough alone. Next time I’ll do it before painting.[:I]
Sheesh!

I always do the putty prior to priming and painting any kit I do.

Primer in addition to given you an universal surface texture/colour, improving paint adhesion, reduction of paint amount needed also shows all the flaws in the surface of a model.

Just another good reason to prime before you paint.

Ok, you guys. You don’t have to rub it in.[:D] Its another lesson learned. But seriously, thanks for the comments.

Bingo!

What kind of primer do you use when you are planning on a glossy finish, such as T-Birds or Blue Angels?

Here is the Zen answer:
“The primer with the finest grit/granules of primer.”

The smoother the surface the smoother your paint finish on top will be.
Which primer suits that bill and is available near you is more than I can say. [;)]
