I posted this in the figures form and it gained some support so I though it might benifit from being here. The time period is fairly long, so you can join whenever you want.
I haven’t done any group builds in the past but I thought this one might be intersting.

My Mumak is almost done. I have the top and the body toghter and painted. Now I only need to work hard on the tusks. I’ll try to get some photos posted.
Well I got my Command Squad box set and made a start , so its definately gonna be Space Marines for me. I love the new set there are so many new bits and pieces to make your marines look even better. Now all I need are some decent decals for the Chapter Im doing (Blood Ravens from the new PC game Dawn of War) , cos my free hand sux.
Any hoo heres a WIP shot of my first guy. http://groups.msn.com/deusmexsminipics/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=125
Awesome space marines[:)]. I don’t have a digital camera so I have to take the time to get the pictures devloped, then scan them in. I’ll try to get some pics today, but it might be a week before I can post them.
I’m gonna change the title to include armor. Mabey that’ll draw in some more people. I also play Imperial Gaurd, so I’'ll try to get some pics of them.
Has anyone started anything for this GB yet? I’ve picked out my figs, and went a couple of days ago to pick them up. I probably won’t get around to doing anything yet, but soon.
Ok, I’ve finally started looking over and cleaning the Fellowship figs…
Its really strange. Some things about the figs are very good. Some things are very, very bad.
For instance, there’s a space where Gimli’s axe is a little distance from his body. Instead of there being an air gap, this is filled in with metal. Now, we’re not talking a little piece of flash to easily get rid of. We’re talking a chunk of metal about 1mm thick that runs all the way from his axe handle back to his chest, body, and arm. This piece of metal is the same thickness as the axe handle, in fact, but there’s no way it should be a part of it.
Another great example is Strider’s sword. For starters, the tip is connected to his cloak by an arc of metal. Again, this is not flash, but a solid arc of metal. Next, the sword is one size, and the scabbard for it is completely different. Looking at the fig, there is no possible way that sword would fit in that scabbard. Maybe I’m being a little picky on this part, but its OBVIOUSLY the wrong size. I have friends that don’t paint who took one look at it and pointed it out.
Yet some of the details on the figs are wonderful.
shrug Who knows… I just have to figure out how much work I want to do to fix some of the flaws.
I think the metal is there to pervent the sword or axe from bending and breaking off. It happens a lot on some of the other figs I buy. My Mumak has some horrible fit problems, and its entire body is textured, so I have to re-sculpt along the seams. Also, I have heard people complaning about the scabbords, but I don’t think there’s much to do about it. It should look fine as long as the sword is a reasnoble distance from the scabbord…
Camera still broken [banghead][banghead][banghead]
Hey if there is still a need count me in I,ll do the S>O>B Immolator tank, and a Cadian heavy weapon team. I dont play warhammer but i pick them up cause i though it would be a nice change from ww2 armour and i cant touch my models till the other gb starts in may so give me a week and i should have these done. Ahhh i got to get a darn digital camera to take photos though.
I came in on the tail-end of someone building a Mumak and helped fix some seamlines. They were TERRIBLE. [yuck] I’m sure you’ll do a much better job with them, though. I just went for the quick, view-from-a-slight-distance fixes because of time. [swg]
Ive been pretty lax at painting lately , hence my BRs are waaaay behind. Puter games have sucked me into their evil world and Im also back doing 1/35 scale armour models
Anyhoo heres the latest BRs
isnt it always the way when you think youve finished you see a mould line. AArgg!!
the banner is fairly basic so as to leave room for victory scrolls which I plan to add if I win a game( thats my excuse anyway and Im sticking to it)
