I was wondering if some one could tell me if the tracks on my panther look ok, or what i should do to make them better.

Levi

I think your tracks look really good. Many modelers choose to apply rust to all metal tracks. Since I have crewed on real tanks, I don’t depict my tracks this way. All metal tracks will rust and will show a rusty patina, if the tank has been stationary and in the weather for a period of time, depending on the climate. AAFV’s with all metal tracks that have been moving through mud or sand will not show any rust. This being said, I don’t think anyone can tell you that rusty tracks are wrong, it’s just you preference.

I think your construction and the sag of the track is really well done, and they definitely compliment the model. Good job and thanks for sharing your work.

Great build. I think the tracks are probably one of the best-finished features on your Panther. Since you don’t have any mud/dust on your tank, leaving basic rust/metal wear on the tracks is a good, consistent excercise.

how would i go about dusting? i hear people talk about this and i dont know how to do it.

Levi

Pigments/pastels. Light dusting with airbrush works also.

blitzer,
I think the tracks look good. If you dust, I’d suggest using the pastel chalks. Grind them up and apply with a brush to the tracks.
