Figure question number 3

What kind of paint do you use for creating the right shade of olive drab for the American jackets and pants during ww2? prefferably using tamiya acrylics
thanks

Well, since clothes faded at different rates and started out with slightly different shades, you could get by with most any OD green and lighten it as you chose. If you can get hold of Model Master, they have a much bertter selection of colors, includiong a nice “faded oilve.”

model masters faded od is what id do, i was gonna get it but didnt have enough money, i am kicking myself cause now i cant find it again… get it while u can.

I use olive fron the square bottle and add a little white I pant each articale a differant shade. Better realism.

Use the O.D. with a little blue for shadows, and a little yellow and white for highlights. Buff or a tan also makes a nice highlight.
