Figure Painting Class

I thought I would share some pictures from a figure painting class I am taking at my local hobby shop. We started on Day 1 with the primed resin head (Tamiya white primer), then a base coat of Vallejo flat flesh. Started blocking in the eyes with Vallejo black, white/flesh mixed, and saddle brown.

Our second day of figure painting class focused on painting in shadows. Colors used were Vallejo Model Color flat flesh, orange-brown, calvary-brown, saddle brown, and black.

Neat!!! He’s coming along nicely, looks like you’re well on your way to mastering the difficult art of painting faces!

Looks great. Is that 1/35 ? Even more impressive if it is Mike

What scale please [:)]

This is a large scale figure, so no it is not 1/35 scale. I only received the head from the instructor and not the entire kit, so I am guessing 1/8 scale.

This is very cool. I need such a class.

OK, one thing I must say is that the bottom eyelid should not be painted in black, like is shown in the pics. To close the eye the bottom lid should be a pinkish/flesh color. When in doubt look at your eyes in the mirror, there is no better example. Also he looks a little cross eyed. Just my observation.
