Fiat G.50 - Italian contribution to Battle of Britain

As promised - since the start time of FS Group Build do not agree with the start time of my model - I show my share in Battle of Britain project here.

This is an old Secter 1/48 model with Eduard PE partss in the cockpit and few details added: Venturi tube, side glasses in the cockpit doors, undercarriage actuators and modified Pitot tubes.

The model shows an a/c of Mag. Mario Bonzano from Corpo Aereo Italiano, Ursel (Belgium), November 1940. The effect of heavy chipping paint was done using “salt technic” - I hope it looks a little bit similarly on the model.

Comments are welcome!

Very nice!

Beautiful work, esp love the camo and the chipping!

I was rather skeptical of your placement of the chippng until I saw the photograph. Man, you nailed it ! it looks exactly like the photo .Beautiful job and I admire your skills.

Wow, it’s very authentic to the real aircraft. Great job!

Man that is some crazy paint chipping going on there on those birds. You did a really nice job replicating it. Nice builds, super job.

Excellent build![Y]

Great build, and a beautiful finish! I like both your camo (I really like the Italians’ camo schemes) and your chipping effects.

Nice work!

Thank you all, Friends, for your kind words. I’m happy to see my work accepted!

For chipping - I was told, that maybe someone left the tarp on it too long - this could explain why other painted parts of the plane look so neat.

Oh my thats damn good !!

Spot on Brother!!

I love weathered planes. You are right about what may have happened to the finish. At the time of year of the B of B and the location of the aircraft, there probably was moisture under the tarp and it baked in the sunlight a number of times. Add to it the the speed of the a/c while in flight and you have a “sand blasting effect”. Just the same great job!!!

That looks really nice. I love the paint chipping and weathering details you pulled out. Well done!
