Well guys while I’m waiting for a few bits to set on the F4J(UK) I’m doing I decided to build my 1/48 FGR2 Blue special kit , heres a few pictures as I get more done I’ll put them up
Looks good so far - keep 'em coming
Nicely inspiring!!
I`m working on an EF111 raven prototype, about in the same stage.
Looking forward to “quiet hour” after the family retires for the night
Hope it goes together,no hitches
Phil
Looks very good so far. What kit are you using? Love those Phantoms! [alien]
the Hasewaga Blue special 1/48 scale , good kit
Off to a good start. Keep us posted.
Regards, Rick
I might be wrong , so please correct me if so.
Wasn’t the Phantom F-4J(UK) powerd by GE’s J79-GE-10 rather than the RR Spey enging?
As I say, I could be wrong but I thought picture two shows the burner cans for Spey’s, that would make the fuselage shape a bit too big at the rear.
Please correct me if necessasary. [:I]
Great looking build. [:D]
Karl
The J(UK) was known as the F3 in service and only served with 74Sqn at Wattisham.
All aircraft were ex USN stock and were bought because of the need to man MPN (Falkland Islands) air defence zone, and were largely unmodified (a slight avionics change)
But as he said , he is doing the FGR2 kit.
Niceee! Keep those British Phantoms coming…
Dho…!! my bad
Thanks for pointing it out to me oggy4624[:I]
I’ll read the post properly in future [|)]
Karl
Also i might be wrong here but the spey powered ones had more thrust at lower level than the GE powered ones
Looks very good Sean, I built the F-4J used by 74Sqn a few years back, I have’nt seen this blue scheme before-looks great! Keep those pics coming.
Darren.
