Ferrari F40 Competizione

Hi , Everyone
i was amazed when i opend the box . this kit has 7 parts trees, a two part body ,and comes with photo etch. if you love ferrari’s. you have to get this kit. it comes with extra parts to build a street sports car or a racecar.
After i opend the kit and saw all the great parts. i got rite up and went right back to the hobby store and bought a second kit. To build as a street sports car.
This first one ill build as a racecar.
I started with the chassis, i painted it using tamiya yellow TS-16. Then i used scale motorsports corbon fiber decals to C/F(corbon fiber) the chassis and fram. I used Micosol to soften the decals and get them to conform to the round frame parts. the top of the chassis i painted ft.black. i think the chassis came out OK. so ill move on to the interior.

That looks great! How do you get your C/F to lay down so well? You are going to have to post some finished pics of this one, its looking real good! [tup]

thanks, eizzle
To make C/F lay down. Use Micosol, decal set . you should be abel to get it at any hobby store. hopefully! if i can? i’d like to post pics. of this build as it goes from start to finnish.ill keep the pics to a minimum. so you are from IN. I was born in Gary, IN. i live in Cal. now.

this is the intirior all done . i added some wireing , belts and photo etch. from studio27 and detail masters.
the intirior went togther easy.

richard

the engine mounted into the chassis easly, now ican start the wirring and plumming.

That carbon fiber looks, amazing, i’m still debating if I have the courage to buy the detail set for the F1 car I recently purchased.

thanks F1champ,
witch F1 car did you buy ? what scale is it? who makes it?
In the 1/20 scale thier are a lot of great detail kits .i would say buy the C/F decals and the detail set you’ll be alot happier with the results.
richard

The 1/20 Tamiya F2001 kit. I’m most likely going to purchase the CF detail kit from SMS as well as the marlboro decals, I think i’ll pass on the super detail set this time around tho. I picked up the Tamiya Enzo today that I won’t start building for a while, but I really want to go with the super detail set for that one even if it is a little pricey. Also do you happen to know the difference between the Red and Yellow Enzo kits? I bought the yellow one because it was the only kit there and I had a 40% off coupon that expires in two days.

Nice build Richard

wow!!! you got a good deal on the kit. It retals for $57.00. The only difference in Tamiyas red and yellow enzo’s is about $4.00. ones yellow plastic the others red. Its the same kit, different box.
My uncal has the yellow one and i have the red one. Maybe yellow plastic costs more, i dont know.
the higher cost mite have to do with licensing . the red enzo says RossoCorsa on the box, the yellow Enzo says Giallo Moden. Anyways you got to get the SMS Enzo super detail set. its great the CD shows every part of the car.
richard

thanks nicholma

Haha doesn’t make sense to make it a different color plastic considering i’m going to paint over it anyways.

Its all looking really good! So a fellow Hoosier eh? Well howdy neighbor [:D]

Hi, up date on the F40. Got the body decaled. at first i wasn’t to crazy about the livery. but now that its done . I like it.
