I presume quite a few of you allready built the 1:12 Ferrari 641/2 (Tamiya). Or the other two in this series (MP4/6 and FW14B), since I presume they’ll be assembled the same way at this specific point.
After the completion of the rear brakes itself, you screw the inner parts of the ducts to the brakes itself (I think parts E53 & 54) with a 1.2x4 screw (think SB4). Try as I may (and I’ve tried…) I cannot get those screws to pull the duct tight. They don’t protrude enough to interfere with a dry-fitted upper halve of the duct (E52), but the looseness of the duct concerns me.
I am planning on replacing the screw with a shorter one, but before I do - is it not maybe the way it’s supposed to be? It really doesn’t seem very right to me.
Or is there any other ideas? Other than drinking a Red Bull and trying again.[;)]

Sorry could not resist. I have never had a problem like that with the Tamiya kits, but maybe the Ferrari is different. . .
I built mine many years ago but I can’t recall that problem. On looking at mine it doesn’t appear as though this part is loose at all. If it was me in this situation I’d try packing or deeping the hole where the head is or a different screw. Sorry I can’t be more specific
Thanks guys! Yeah, I have to agree - such a problem on a Tamiya kit (of any scale) is almost unheard-of. Don’t know whether I maybe screwed up somewhere - but all I can think of is paint in the hole where the screw must go into. Which I (a) will find hard to believe and (b) will find impossible to believe on both sides! (even for me [:I] )
Anyways, I robbed my current bike kit of a couple of smaller screws (1.2x2.5) and it did the job just fine! All assembled, allready onto the rear chassis as well. Now for the next step! [:D]
