Figured I’d just start a new thread for this…rather than spending the time editing out the old one…due to the P/B debacle. I still had some pics on my phone, and uploaded what I had to Flickr.
A few pics to get caught up to where I had left off…
I mixed up a yellowish-tan as a base for the Uschi “wood” decals…
So, that’s where I had left off.
Since then, I threw some paint at it…
After my vacation (Ireland was AWESOME!!!), and looking at this again, I was not happy with the lighter green, so I remasked and slung a little more paint…got the decals on as well.
Just when I’ve got to the point where I think to myself, “Alright. Fermis has can longer wow me”, it’s BOOM, and here you are blind siding us with yet another eye popping stunner. Magnificent work my friend.
Fermis, I’m quite jealous. That’s a beautiful thing you have there. And a beautiful kit too. Maybe one day I’ll get to play with one. What made you decide to split it up as you have?
I’d love to see a short video of your painting technique. Maybe you could set up a camera some day just behind your paint booth (or wherever you paint) and grace us with an airbrushing tutorial.
It’s a commission build, so I do as asked. I really like it…this is my first go at doing one like this!
I appreciate the compliments…but “maybe” is probably about as far as that idea will go! It would likely be painfully boring! I do believe that there are already a few videos out there on youtube…search “Black basing”.
I can’t believe this thing has dragged on as long as it has, but I am nearing the end. All that’s left is attaching the remaining fiddly bits, all the bigger ones are painted/decaled and ready to go…aside from that, still gotta do the canopy.
