Felixstowe

Has anyone tackled the rigging on the Felixstowe yet? How did you go about it? I’m thinking of using a #80 drill and drilling all the way through the wings, on each side of the struts. What do you think. Bill

No, but I finished the rigging on my 1/72-ish Glencoe Martin MB-2. There’s a lot of rigging in that, but not as much as your Felixstowe.

I drilled through the bottom wing, and partly through the top wing. I anchored smoke colored “invisible sewing thread” (that I got a fabric store) with super glue, shot it with accellerator, pulled it through the correct hole in the bottom wing, and glued it there too. I shot the bottom wing with accellerator as well.

I found that, besides the superglue accellerator, a pair of needlenose tweezers, and a hat with a light on it really helps. [:)]

Here are some links to how-to articles on rigging:

Drilling holes and threading monofilament

Using fuse wire (other types of wire could be used) I used some fine electrical wire to rig the control cables for my bomber.

And even more on using monofilament (with photos)

Some folks used stretched sprue. They measure the distance, snip to that size, and glue the stretched sprue in there. My only problem with that method is streching the sprue to an even thickness.
