Favorite part?

I’ve really been struggling with a less than stellar kit and have about quit on it a couple of times. A few minutes ago I installed the gun tube and sat the turret on the upper hull and said to myself, there, now you look like a tank [:)]. Anyway, My question is; what part of the build is your favorite? I think in my case it’s a tie between installing the gun and putting on the decals.

For me it’s the build of the entire kit … I start to bog down when it comes time to paint and finish.

To me it’s the gun turret assembly part I like the most. It is because almost every tank has it’s unique turrent. I have to confess I don’t very much like the wheels assembly part. I always feel boring when I have to repeat the same assembly steps for over a dozen time.

I like drybrushing-you turn that hunk of OD plastic to something of art

Turret assembly. It’s the most obvious feature of the tank isn’t it? I like getting that first coat of paint on, hides the imperfections and starts to look like something. I dread the wheels and tracks.

At some point this model, whatever I’m working on, starts to look like a scale version of the real thing, not just a collection of small plastic parts. When that time comes for me, whenever that is in the building process, that time is my favorite time of modeling! That could be somewhere in the painting process, or final assembly, or some stage of weathering or putting on dry-transfers! Satisfaction of a job well done or as good as I could do it this time out!

When it’s finally finished!!!

That’s my favorite part!

I like it all . I tell a lie some times I dont like indi traks.[banghead]

Right after the basecoat…when all that flippin detail work starts to stand out, no longer a collection of scratches, dents, wires and brass pieces stuck together, but one solid unit.

For me its airbrushing the tank. Building the main body, doing the tracks, doing the little details are all rewarding at the end. But I guess airbrushing is the one step that makes everything start coming together for me… plus I just like using an airbrush [:)]

PE has its own fascination/frustration as well. When its going smoothly its enjoyable to step back and look at what you just built. When its going bad its oh so frustrating. [}:)]

I enjoy the whole build. I also enjoy putting it on the shelf and positoning it just right.

Keep well.

Outside of enjying the entire build, well except of roadwheels of coarse, I really enjoy the weathering when the tank really comes to life.

For me … its putting the tracks on , thats when it becomes a tank to me ![8D]
