Hi all, I just joined this morning after being directed to the site time after time when doing google image searches for models etc. There is some excellent work here and I look forward to being an active member. I am just introducing my eldest son (nearly eight years) to modelling and hope he really gets into it. One thing is for certain: having a forum like this and being able to upload his work will give him a huge thrill. It will give me a huge thrill for that matter! He is currently making the airfix battlefront diorama and I am putting the finishing touches to a Tamiya 1/16 elite infantryman that I made years ago, when they first released them. Finally I have got round to making some kind of display with him!. The quad was all my son’s work, along with most of the tiger. I helped with the ruined house and diorama base. Comments obviously welcome. I would like to enter the 1/16 in competition and wondered if anyone thinks it’s up to the job. Images will be added when I’ve worked out how to do it.

Welcome to the board, it’s a very nice group here. Looking forward to seeing some of your sons work. I’ve been building with my son but at 18 he’s hitting the stage of finding other interests but like all of us he’ll be back.

Finding particular posts can be difficult, I couldn’t find a step-by-step tutorial there myself. I’m not an expert, but I think I can help you.
You do need to upload your photos to a third-party site. I lot of people use Photobucket. I use Windows Live. I suspect Flicker would work.
Once your photos are there, you have to find the specific URL that just displays your photo. I simply keep clicking on my photo until it is the only thing showing on the screen, then I copy the URL out of the address bar.
Back here on FSM, there is a little icon that looks like a strip of film:
Click that and paste the URL into the field for it and click insert.

Great work on the figure, love that camo. I still haven’t got SS camo to the point where i am happy with it.

Ye, a vast majority of people on here are from the states. I reckon next in line is us Brits followed by some Aussies. After that theres guys (and girls) from all over.

Gosh, your eight years old son did the Tiger? He sure has a great future… he did better than what I did with my kits when I was 15 years old. Looking forward to see you more in my favorite places… the Armor and Figures & Misc forums.
I had to help him with wheel location (had a bit of trouble understanding it myself) and was generally around to advise. But he painted it himself whilst intently studying the instructions. The quad, although obviously lacking in certain areas, he made almost exclusively himself. I came home from work one day to find that he’d done the decals which I thought was brilliant. You may notice that he added his own detail of a gun on top of the cab which, whilst not exactly accurate, shows willing and a possible future in the kit-bashing field! gold star to whoever can identify where this extra bit came from! He will absolutely love what you’ve said by the way. It doesn’t matter how good the result or indeed what they do, whether it be modelling or any other thing, but the kids need to know that when they’ve put the effort in, it shows. My two boys drive me up the wall but I love 'em! The eight year old (Bo) is studying ww2 at school. I’m going in to show a few bits like medals and civvie gas mask. I thought I’d stop short of taking in my luftwaffe dress dagger though!
