far fetched question

ok, i know this is the armor forum, but i figured alot of you military guys dont wander to the Odds & Ends forum. i know alot of you guys are in the military, and i was in need of advice on 2 packs i am looking at buying. do any of you know of any forums or message boards or review sites on packs? i am looking between a Blackhawk Industries 3-Day Assault Pack with the accessory packs and compression sack, or the Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack. feel free to yell at me about posting this or moving this post to another forum. but thanks to any who can help me.

DUDE, whatever you do, dont buy that spec ops thing if you want it to last!
I have the blackhawk three day bag. It is good, I really like the attatchment bags I can add to the sides.
However, I really like Tactical Tailor, their nylon and stiching is better than Blackhawk, and they have a three day style pack. They also have a modified Alice Ruck that is worth taking a look at.

i was really leaning on towards the Spec Ops, but i noticed one thing that really turned me off, that the shoulder straps met with the actual pack with side-release plastic buckles. that really struck me as weak, that a heavy pack could make the straps go bye-bye. plus i think the Blackhawk one is cheaper.

have a look at Lowe they make the US rucks
theres also Eagle
ive got some blackhawk gear, the plastic QR clips are quit sturdy but i have seen some stitching give way on mates BH gear

Staps are going to be the biggest issue if you use it alot. The zippers will get support from the side buckles, and the blackhawk zippers are sturdy and the straps are double stitched.
My buddy has the Tactical Tailor, its straps meet the bag and then are reinforced with another strap sewn into the top of bag. Quite sturdy.

yeah, im pretty sure im going to be ordering the Blackhawk. payday better hurry up and get here hehe.
