It’s a bit bigger than my Floh…!
You should see the videos of that beast in flight-- when it was up in the sky with no convenient scale references, it looked just like a real BUFF.
Yes, I realize I am using the past tense . . . it looked pretty realistic when it went down, too. Especially that pall of greasy smoke rising up from beyond the nearest treeline.
Moral: when steering a B-52, don’t get too crazy with the ailerons!
That’s really some incredible work, from both the modeling and engineering standpoints. I doubt those guys will stay out of the game for long. If they couldn’t deal with crashing them, they’d never have gotten so good at building them.
I sent the videos to my friends at the office, they all agree it was a tragedy for the guys who built it. Ouch George! How much does a thing like that cost?? -They asked. The narrator on the crash video kept silence after the accident! It would have been my reaction too, I wouldn’t know what to say!
Do I think they’ll come back with another incredible RC Jet? Absolutely! When? Well, I’m sure it will take a while. It must have taken them more than a year to build their Buff, not to mention the money they spent on it. I think the price of such a model is comparable to the price of a brand new car, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s even more. But RC modelers are truly unstoppable, I have a couple of friends that have crashed two or three RC models and still come back for more, even I who stupidly lost my RC trainer want a second chance! This guys will return, you will see…
It’s been posted before, but always worth a second look.
That’s just plain crazy.
This again? [yuck] [;)]
Fade to Black…
That is just incredible!!
