Famous Airplanes of World-Apache and Cobra

ANyone have this book: Famous Airplanes of the World #34: AH-1 Cobra and AH-64 Apache by the Japanese publisher Burdin-Do? Any comments, is it a good reference?
Thanks

Haven’t heard of it. If the photos are good in the book, I’d pic it up.

Yeah, me too! I’ll have to go look it up on the net and see what I can find, thanks! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

It’s definitely worth getting. Some color sections at the front of the book covering AH-1W’s and AH-64’s that are re-capped from Koku-Fan, so the quality of the photos is great. Single-photo potted histories of all AH-1 variants, and stuff on the pre-production and A-model Apaches. Very good line drawings and mechanical drawings. All the text is in Japanese, but the photos are where it’s really at, so who cares?

Thanks for the info guys. there was one on ebay and I went ahead and bought it.

Wow… I hadn’t seen the one on the Cobra. I have a stack of FAOW’s, but the newest one is from 1982… most are from the '70s. If they are anything like they used to be, I’d say that any of them are worth buying, sight unseen.

I wish I had bought more back then… how much is one issue going for these days? They used to be $2 when I first discovered them, but I later paid as much as $4.50 a copy. San Antonio Hobby Shop (San Jose, Ca.) always had an ample supply of back issues.

I bought it on ebay for $6 with Buy it Now, was listed at $4. Seemed like a good deal. there are some other one listed at Great models for $14 or so.
