Fallschirmjager uniform

Did the fallschirmjager from 1940 use the same uniform in 1944 or as it changed a number of times. I’m tempted to get the 1940 offering from dragon.

Their uniform evolved during the war. While it is possible that some older hands may have had the original style uniforms still in 1944, newer replacement troops would have been isued the later style uniforms. What is the reason you want the 1944 style? Dragon already makes several sets in that style uniform.

I was thinking of doing a dio with my otto carius tank just brain storming. I want it set in the Narwa area in 44

I am not familiar with that incident. I have read a bit about it, but dont recall the time of year. But, the 1940 Gen 2 set is posed as if just after hitting the ground and begiining their assualt on the objective, they will probably not be proper for what you have in mind. However, several of the other Dragon sets may be more appropriate.
