Fairey Swordfish Floatplane - I have finished it! Some Pics

Hi Modelers,
I have just finished my Swordfish. Its the Floatplane version of Tamiya. The kit is gorgeous but not a shake the box thing. You have to really think about what you want to do next. I used the Tamiya steel fret also and it was a big help when it came to rigging the plane. A little tip for you if you want to start this impressing model: Just glue one side of the rigging and then glue the wings to the fuselage. THEN glue the other side of the rigging wire I glued both sides to the wings then the wings to the fuselage and then I had a lot of problems. But finally I did it. I have built it more or less OOB. I only added the wire to the back rudders and Eduard seatbelts. I have weathered it a bit with pastels and different clear cotes( Gloss, semi and matt). Hope you like it.
Gerald

PS The NMF is Alcld White Alu. And the wood stand is made from MacDonalds coffee spoons[:D]

And to sow the difference in length etc:

Nice work Gerald!! A beautiful finish on an interesting plane. What’s the next project??

Great Job on a very nice kit. Thanks for sharing. Keep em coming.

Nice job on the “Stringbag!”

I’m currently building the wheeled version, and I feel its an easy build. The only part I found difficult was the gap where the top of the outboard struts meet the bottom of the top wing. How did you fill yours? I used sheet styrene. Its difficult toclean that area without removing the rib detail.

Well done. Keep up the good work.

Great Job. [bow][bow][bow] I love the saw horses.[:D]

Great aircraft thanks for the pics. I have had the wheeled version on my self for about two years now, Its about time I started it.

Love the weathering! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! What did you do to get that color on the exhaust pipe?

Now thats just awesome.
Very convincing finish and ,yes that exhaust pipe is wunderbar.

Excellent looking swordfish. Again thanx for the pics and allowing us to see them.

That is a fantastic bird!!! I hope that I can finish my Corsair half as nicely!!!

Out of sight! That rigging must have been tedious. A beautiful job, my hat is off to you Gerald…

Very nice job. Nice shading and weathering on the floats.

Very nice. That Mustang is the same scale isn’t it? I never new the Swordfish was so big.

Very nice Swordfish indeed!

Very nice. Like the subdued weathering

Right On !!! I didn’t think the swordfish was that big either but apparently it is. Nice Job.
