Fahrgestell Bren Flak gun questions

On this page there are 4 pictures of a Bren Flak carrier: http://beute.narod.ru/Beutepanzer/uk/APC_universal/universal-AA.htm 3 have what LOOK like a Flak 30, and then one of a definite flak 38. Were the shields of the Flak 30 and Flak 38 interchangeable? What about the muzzle break? Also, does anyone have any idea how these things were mounted to the Universal carrier? I have the carrier almost done, after some small changes such as the headlights, but I need to know about mounting it. And I need to know WHICH GUN to mount. I have the Flak 30 kit, and would rather mount that (I would like to not have ALL Flak 38s in my collection). I have searched the internet from one end to the other looking for a side profile of the one I think is the 30, but have found nothing. And I was out at the rig, up for 38 hours straight, looking on Google and Yahoo. In 3 languages! Boy, back in WW2, they were not very considerate of future modelers, were they?

And before anyone comments, yes, I may have an unhealthy like of German Flak. I have already mounted a 38 to the back of a Protze, and have the kits to do it to a Horch, I’m adding the Flak 103 to the Steyr using the Leadwarrior conversion kit, I have both Dragon kits, and also another Flak 37 to put into the Zvezda Mercedes Maultier. And of course the Italeri Sd.Kfz.10/4. Other ideas are of course welcome, but I won’t be doing the Mobelwagen or Wirbelwind. I hate trying to do THAT many roadwheels. And I’d probably end up trying to use a Dragon kit for the Panzer IV, because it is better than the Tamiya kit.

And if anyone can help me with ideas of where to get the cart shown at 1:10 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BpGYrb-lic&NR=1 I’d be really grateful!

Other than the calibre of the rounds fired, the Flak 30 and Flak 38 didn’t share anything in common with each other.

wbill76,

Thanks for the confirmation! Now, I just have to figure out how to mount the thing. I found a build that someone did online with a Flak 38, but I don’t like the way he mounted the gun. He removed the motor cover and put a pedestal into the back of the carrier. How would you get to the motor if it was in the pedestal?

Anyway, thanks again!
