I remember someone doing a beautiful model of Lt. Harry Brubaker’s (played by Bill Holden) F9 a few years ago as it appeared in the 1954 Korean War Movie “The Bridges at Toko-Ri”. Does anyone know who makes the decals for that particular F9 or was it a custom set put together by the modeler? I’m pretty certain it was featured in FSM 5-7 years ago.
Great movie! Would be a nice subject to model.

Revell issued the kit a few years back with those decals. You should be able to find one online or a vendor at a show.
Got that kit waiting to begin one of these days. Kit decal sheet was a little dry so hopefully the Brubaker markings will transfer okay. Found my kit on ARC, just search around, you’ll find one.
Super Scale also did a set that included the markings for Brubaker’s F9F. They are long OOP, but probably still can be found from the usual sources of old decals.
Thanks for the help guys…I’m tracking a couple of them now. Never got around at getting that particular kit.
Hey Plasticjunkie, you may be luck. I built the revell kit a few years ago and it has the Brubaker scheme on the box top. The kit has two choices of markings, the other being a Marine version. Me being a former Marine guess what I did with the kit.

I do believe I kept the brumaker decals, so if you can give me a day or two I can dig em out for you and they are all yours. It would consist of the nose art and tail codes. The national insignia I used for the kit but you should have no problem finding them

Add this kit to the project:

Of course it’s an FM, which makes it really hard to build.
