The aft section of the fuselage that is bare metal and surrounds the afterburner area, is it aluminum, steel, titanium or some other metal?
i would suggest titanium as this is a high heat area. also looking at photos its apears to be 2 different shades of titanium
It is 100% sheet titanium. The internal stringers and ribs are forged titanium. The air scoops are forged from stainless steel and titanium.

from what I recall, they would be the same, inside and out… But its been a while for me, my dad was a P/C on Crusaders in the late 60’s. I seem to recall the skins being titanium…
